Kabul, Afghanistan – In a recent security operation, the Taliban’s Special Police Unit successfully apprehended a gang involved in kidnapping activities in the capital city of Kabul. The operation was carried out based on intelligence provided by the Criminal Investigation Department.
According to reports, the gang had earlier abducted a man named Haji Anwar and demanded a ransom of $1 million from his family in exchange for his release. Further investigations revealed the group’s involvement in multiple similar criminal activities across the city.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Special Police and investigators, several members of the kidnapping ring were arrested from various locations throughout Kabul. During the operation, the victim, Haji Anwar, was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with his family.
Officials from the Islamic Emirate highlighted that over the past four years, security forces have made significant progress in combating kidnapping and other forms of organized crime throughout the country.
